WAYS WIKI COULD IMPROVE CLASSROOM INSTRUCTIONS

Wikis can be use in numerous ways to improve class room instructions. Some of these ways are teacher can prepare information on the wiki and show through a projector during class. This will be useful to eliminate the writing on the board which save some time. Student will also be directed to the wiki page so they can use it for study purposes.

REFLECTION

A wiki page was created for portfolio piece #7 this was accomplished by creating a webpage in google.  The wiki will be used to display information related to Physical Education, this would enable the students to visit the site and get added information about a topic by either clicking links or viewing other information posted by teacher.  It was my first time creating a web page so it was basically like a trial and error phase, but once I gained an understanding on how to accomplish the tasks it was smooth sailing from there.  To improve the site I would add links to puzzles and fun facts to keep the students interested in visiting the site again.

REFLECTION

A movie was produced using videos collected for a lesson. A title, captions, animations and transitions were also included in the movie.

Using video can improve your class room instruction in many ways, some of such ways are, they can be use to re-enforce a topic that was taught in this way you will cater to the needs of the visual learns. It is very important that you cater to the different learning styles in your class. Videos can all be use to peek the interest of the students, use as an opener for a class to gain their interest. At a teacher u could make a movie with the student as a group activity that will stimulate them and make them excited about the lesson. These are just of the few ways the video can be used in the class to improve classroom instructions.

The difficulty that I was faced with is posting to my blog. It was then rectified when I was helped by one of my fellow class mate. There is always room for improvement so as I get more familiar with the tool I will be able to improve on what I have learnt.
